Alec Mateo and Benjamin Schoonenberg – Steps between stones 

In conclusion to Nicola Arthen’s solo exhibition An Intricate Well, Alec Mateo and Benjamin Schoonenberg will be presenting a video installation and performative reading in response to the complexity of encounter central to the work. Inspired by an iterative exploration of the landscape of the Hoge Veluwe, they work through their own encounter with the scattered stones. Through small poetic and spatial interventions in the exhibition space, Alec Mateo and Benjamin Schoonenberg seek to propose ways in which these stones are able to de-hierarchize memories, both extending them beyond us and bringing them closer in embrace.
