Cancelled – Out the Timid Toe, a performance by Alec Mateo featuring Brechje Krah

Sunday 19 December

Sadly we have to cancel our event and close the exhibition one day early, meaning we won’t be open on Sunday 19 December. We will welcome you again in 2022.

Out the Timid Toe is a dialogue in gesture exploring the promise of unfulfilled intimacy, and the tragi-comic emancipation therein, both from the violence of essentializing and linear temporalities.

Alec Mateo is a Dominican Writer and performer from New York, working with poetry, sound, and movement to explore fugitive subjectivities and modes of togetherness.

Brechje Krah is a writer and designer from Amsterdam. She graduated from the Royal Academy in The Hague, researching liquid modernity. Krah likes to work with clay and movement and is interested in the capacities and limitations of time.

I didn’t think it would turn out this way marks the fourth part of the exhibition program Am I an Object. The program – that will run until March 2022 – is further featuring allerleihrauh, a solo presentation by Suchan Kinoshita. It will be responded to in writings and events by students from the Sandberg Institute Critical Studies Department.

P/////AKT would like to take this opportunity to share the sad news of Martin ter Schure’s passing away. We are grateful for his untiring support and insights and are looking forward to collaborate with MTS-Audiovisueel for things to come.
